Living with the Romanians!

New things are happening all the time. Progress. Things change. People change.
People become better. Others become bigger assholes.You'll see where i'm getting at.

Ever since i returned to Cyprus i have been sharing an apartment with AENAON (yes the guy who made the awesome airport post!). Three months ago, we moved to a bigger place, due to the fact that Aenaon got sick of running into me when i was chatting with my girlfriends through Youporn. (no link cause kids might be watching. but you know what i'm talking about.)

So in this new apartment i have my own bedroom! and we also had an extra bedroom, which we thought might be a good idea to give to someone who needed it, or keep it free so we can host visitors from abroad.

This opportunity, well not exactly opportunity, came when we got a new employee from Romania at my day job. The guy was really eager to befriend us, and he took me to his place on a lunch break. He lived with his wife and 2year old daughter in a 30sq. m. studio with no balcony, infested with cockroaches, and his bitch old landlady was asking for a 400 euro per month rent!! WTF!

Anyways , i felt really bad about having such assholes taking advantage of poor people in my country, so without giving it a second thought, i told them to fuck the old lady, pack their shit and come and stay to the extra room. AENAON was ok with it, you see, he is also a humanitarian, although he'll never admit it. :)

But our landlord, not so pleased. Once he heard that we'll be hosting a poor family in our house, he was furious. I thought i had a right to bring guests into my own house. He said that if more people stay in the house, he is entitled to a bigger rent fee. Having a discussion on the subject with him, i realised that the guy didn't like the idea of having Romanians in our quiet neighborhood in Strovolos, for the simple reason that he is a FREAKIN RACIST! Which is strange, if you consider the fact that his wife is from the Philipines.

What the hell is wrong with Cypriot landlords? Why do they wanna rip off poor immigrants? I mean, come on man, you don't rip off people who dont have, you help those and steal from the rich. Like Robin Hood.

Back to the subject, i found this whole adventure very interesting, as many social issues are coming up because of this. I got my way, as usual, and the guys are in the house now. We'll see what happens.
